Textbook/Reference: The lecture is self-contained. Optional reference: Elementary Linear Algebra with Applications, by Richard Hill. Third Edition.
Objectives: Learn how to solve and apply linear system of equations, using vector-matrix notations.
Prerequisites: MA 241 (Credit is not allowed for both MA 305 and MA 405)

Grading: The letter grade will be determined from the total numeric grade as follows:
Letter Grade A+ A A- B+ B B- C+ C C- D+ D D- F
Total Numeric Grade >= 97.00 >= 93.00 >= 90.00 >= 87.00 >= 83.00 >= 80.00 >= 77.00 >= 73.00 >= 70.00 >= 67.00 >= 63.00 >= 60.00 < 60.00

The total numeric grade will be the sum of several numeric grades as follows:

Max Numeric grade 4.5 0.5 20 20 20 35 100

Tests:
Midterm 1     Feb 18 (Thu).
Midterm 2     Mach 18 (Thu).
Midterm 3     April 22 (Thu).
Final May 4 (Tue) 8:30 -- 11:00 AM US-EST

All tests are closed book/notes.
You should bring calculators (TI-83+ or above) to the tests.
However, you are NOT allowed to use computer algebra systems such as Maple.
Attendance: Required .
If you have an official excuse, then give it to the TA and ask the TA to remove the absence mark from the record.
Neither instructor nor TA will provide extra-help on missed lectures, unless there is an official excuse.
